Stacey, for the traditional version, we don’t use cayenne peppers. This is a totally dish with dried peppers. We have another famous dish using fresh peppers but not in this one.

Hi! I was looking at several different recipes and noticed that none of them use the Sichuan chili flakes or the cayenne pepper. May I ask if these are just your additions or if they are very traditional and other people are leaving them out because they are adapting the recipe? I guess I’m asking how necessary those ingredients are and what they add to the dish. I would love to make it just the way you say, but I was just curious.

This spicy chicken recipe is simply a masterpiece! The chicken is tender, the peanuts are crunchy, and the chili has just the right amount of fiery flavor to make each bite memorable. Definitely a classic in home cooking!
