We usually use Erjingtiao. I know the chili pepper Facing Heaven chillies you mentioned, but it is very spicy and not suitable for Sichuan cooking. If you are not afraid of spicy food, you can also try adding some 😊

Could I ask which type of dried pepper do you use in Sichuan? I have some Chinese Chillies called (in English) Facing Heaven chillies as the fruit grows upwards on its stem.
